David Tawfik, Managing Director

Mr. Tawfik co-founded Iridium in 1996 where he has led in numerous investment banking transactions. Earlier, from 1992 to 1995, Mr. Tawfik was the President of a $1.2 billion diversified aerospace electronics group of Honeywell International. He led that diversified business to top industry performance, doubling operating margins by improving manufacturing and purchasing efficiencies, consolidating five smaller divisions, eliminating excess capacity and re-igniting growth. Under his leadership, numerous strategic acquisitions were identified, executed, and successfully integrated.
Earlier, Mr. Tawfik was President of Bendix Flight Systems, a $150 million aircraft avionics supplier where he achieved a major profitability turnaround that transformed the business from the worst performing unit of the company's aerospace business to a solid bottom line contributor. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of US Marketing and Strategic Planning at the $2.5 billion Bendix Aerospace sector of the Allied Corporation. Mr. Tawfik also held several general management, marketing and engineering senior leadership positions at various other technology companies.
Mr. Tawfik holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from New York University, and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Herbert Krasnow, Managing Director

Mr. Krasnow co-founded Iridium in 1996, and has been a venture capital investor for over 40 years. He served for 25 years as Chairman of the Board of ECC International, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange listed company that specialized in training through simulation. He has also been a director of a number of public and private companies including Teleprompter Corp. and Napco Industries, Inc. both of which have been listed on the NYSE. He had been an early pioneer in the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) financing arena and served as President of the National Association of SBIC's (NASBIC) in the late 1970's. He is currently an active partner in a firm that owns and manages several commercial and residential properties.
Mr. Krasnow is a Certified Public Accountant and was formerly a managing partner of Maser, Krasnow and Lippman, a New York City accounting firm.
Joseph Maturo, Managing Director

Mr. Maturo has over 25 years of investment banking and senior management operating experience. He spent 10 years with Merrill Lynch, focusing on investment of Merrill Lynch capital in middle-market leveraged buyout transactions. During this period, he completed approximately 30 leveraged buyout investments and served on the Boards of Directors of 13 Merrill Lynch portfolio companies. In addition, as part of his tenure at Merrill Lynch, he was appointed to provide portfolio management to a troubled investment that was successfully rehabilitated and then sold to a public company.
Following his time at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Maturo served as COO of Orbit Industries, Inc., a domestic manufacturer of women’s budget priced apparel. In 1995, he co-founded and served as President of Allegiance Health Services, LLC, a healthcare business that provided medical consulting services to major national automotive and worker's compensation insurance companies. Allegiance Health Services was successfully sold to a public company in 2004. Most recently, Mr. Maturo served as a Managing Director of Bridgehead Partners LLC, a consulting firm that provides various value-enhancement services to the portfolio companies of private equity firms.
Mr. Maturo holds a BS in Accounting from Boston College and an MBA in Finance from New York University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the American Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Stanley Herman, Senior Advisor

Mr. Herman has over 25 years of consulting and senior management experience, focusing on creating value for a broad range of businesses through effective analysis, innovative thinking and implementing strategy. He spent more than 15 years with J.M. Huber Corporation, a private, multi-billion dollar conglomerate in existence for over a century, where he participated in all aspects of mergers & acquisitions, long-range planning, financial and non-financial reporting processes and ROI improvement. In addition, as part of his tenure at J.M. Huber, he was responsible for their corporate Venture Capital portfolio and a $200 million annual capital expenditures program.
Following his tenure at J.M. Huber, Mr. Herman founded his own consulting practice where he has worked with businesses ranging from start-ups to others generating several hundred million in revenue on portfolio strategy, turnaround strategy, mergers & acquisitions and private and public financing.
Mr. Herman holds a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from Purdue University and an MBA in Marketing and Organizational Management from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He has taught Business Strategy and Entrepreneurial Finance and has served as President of his local school board in New Jersey, where he currently resides, where he instituted strategic planning and completed a successful multi-million dollar bond referendum project on budget.
Henry Borenstein, Senior Advisor

Mr. Borenstein has over 30 years of experience in various senior leadership positions with Honeywell International. Most recently he was a Vice President at its Aerospace Company responsible for all pricing and negotiating activities of that $10 billion global business. Previously, he was President of a $120 million electronics division in Tucson, Arizona and prior to that a leader of its $800 million global environmental and energy systems product line with operations in Torrance, California, Toronto Canada and Tempe, Arizona. Mr. Borenstein also served on the board of Directors of two European Aerospace companies: Secan in Paris, France and Normal-Air Garrett Limited in London, England. He has lectured at the UCLA Anderson School of Business MBA program on the topics of pricing and negotiating practices.
Mr. Borenstein holds an MBA in finance at the UCLA Graduate School of Management and a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California in Berkeley. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi honor society Alpha Chapter at Berkeley.
Art Manni, Senior Advisor

Mr. Manni has over 25 years experience in various senior roles at the $10 billion aerospace sector of Honeywell International, as well as in several other major aerospace companies, including marketing, product line leadership, strategic planning and merger & acquisitions. Mr. Manni is also currently the senior associate at Downing Aviation Associates, a broad-based aerospace consulting and contracting firm based in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to that assignment, he served as Vice President and General Manager of the Defense division of AmSafe, Inc., and was Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Eagle Picher Technologies. He began his professional career at Pratt & Whitney, Canada.
Mr. Manni holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and has received senior level Six-Sigma training. He has been involved, both as a hobby and professionally, in specialty and collector automobile activities for most of his life.
Joseph DelliCarpini, Senior Vice President

Mr. DelliCarpini is a seasoned senior sales and marketing professional with over 25 years experience in the financial services industry. He has held several business line management and sales management positions with organizations that provided investment products and services to institutional investors such as mutual funds, hedge funds, pension funds, foundations and endowments. Mr. DelliCarpini is a former Managing Director at Furman Selz, LLC, an institutional brokerage and banking firm where he was responsible for all new business activities for their Mutual Fund Services Group, a National Sales Manager at US Trust Co. for their Institutional Asset Services Division, and a Vice President at The Chase Manhattan Bank, NA in their Global Securities Services Group.

Jared Shapiro, Vice President

Mr. Shapiro has 12 years of diverse management, sales and marketing business experience in the media and technology industries. Prior to joining Iridium, Mr. Shapiro was the founder and president of an independent commercial media talent management company in New York City that serviced major clients including Viacom, Paramount, ESPN, NBC and all the large advertising and media production companies. Earlier, he held several key sales and marketing positions in the media and IT industries. He had also interned for Congresswoman Nancy L. Johnson of Connecticut focusing on healthcare, labor and tax issues.
Mr. Shapiro holds a BA in Political Science from Tulane University and also volunteers with the Achilles Track Club working with disabled runners.
Jim Belling, Vice President

Mr. Belling has 17 years of experience in the healthcare and technology sectors, first as a securities trader focused on these industries, and culminating in various senior roles within the healthcare technology industry. Prior to joining Iridium, Mr. Belling was a business development professional in two $ billion plus, publicly listed healthcare businesses, including Zimmer Holdings, the world leader in orthopedic products and development, and Integra Life Sciences, a market leader in surgical instruments for neurosurgery, reconstructive surgery, general surgery and soft tissue repair. Mr. Belling began his career at WorldCo Financial and then Schonfeld Securities, working as an equities trader focused on the healthcare and technology sectors, and leaving after a successful period managing a large team on a trading desk.
Mr. Belling holds a BBA in Marketing from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, where he played Division 1 soccer.
Daniel Tawfik, Vice President

Mr. Tawfik has a management consulting background with a specific focus in Corporate Finance. Prior to joining Iridium worked at the $11 billion global financial services firm Marsh & McLennan Companies on various management and strategic consulting projects, reporting directly to the office of the Chief Executive Officer and the Vice Chair. His responsibilities included corporate strategic financial planning and the implementation of a strategic planning and client relationship management program for the firm's 300 top global accounts, across all subsidiaries (Mercer Consulting Group, Marsh, Inc., and Putnam). Before his appointment to the corporate parent, he was employed with their subsidiary, Marsh. Inc., where he advised major multinationals on Political Risk. Prior to that he was an analyst at The Bank of New York Company in their Corporate Finance group. Mr. Tawfik has also spent time working with the Business Council for the United Nations (UNA-USA) and with Amnesty International.
Mr. Tawfik holds an MS in International Affairs from the New School University and a BA in Economics from New York University.
